PBIS & SEL at Roosevelt

At Roosevelt Elementary, we are proud to be a Platinum award-winning PBIS school, recognized for fostering a safe, positive, and supportive environment. Through PBIS and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), we help students build strong character, emotional resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework is built on a multi-tiered system of support that uses proven strategies to:
-
Promote positive behaviors
-
Minimize disruptions
-
Support student success—both academically and socially
Through clear expectations, positive reinforcement, and collaboration among staff, students, and families, we help our students build strong social-emotional skills and lifelong habits for success in the classroom and beyond.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
We believe that developing strong social-emotional skills is essential to preparing students for lifelong success. Our SEL program helps students build the confidence and compassion they need to navigate school and life with resilience and empathy.
SEL teaches students how to:
-
Recognize and manage their emotions
-
Communicate effectively and build healthy relationships
-
Show empathy and respect for others
-
Make responsible decisions
-
Cope with challenges and bounce back from setbacks
Comprehensive Student Support
Our SEL efforts are supported by a dedicated team that includes a Social-Emotional Learning Specialist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Community School Case Manager. This team provides one-on-one and small group support to help students work through challenges, build emotional regulation skills, and feel connected to their school community.
