Roosevelt Elementary Students Test Their Brain Power During Family Math Festival

Roosevelt Elementary School students engaged in stimulating challenges while bonding with family and community members during the school’s Family Math Festival on March 23.

The event was held in partnership with California Math Festivals, an organization that has hosted more than 1,000 festivals across the state aimed at encouraging students to embrace science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) courses.

Each grade level had a wide selection of math games to choose from, ranging from hands-on building challenges to geometry activities.

The event gave Lynwood Unified families the opportunity to get a closer look at the subjects being taught to students, which expands their knowledge through a rigorous curriculum and sets them up for success as they pursue higher levels of education.
