Lynwood Unified Pioneers AI Integration to Empower Educators, Inspire Classroom Innovation

Lynwood Unified is redefining classroom innovation by becoming one of the first districts to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to empower educators, spark creativity and elevate student learning – a transformative step toward providing students with more efficient, future-ready educational experiences.

As part of a new agreement with OpenAI, Lynwood Unified joins the organization’s first national ChatGPT for Teachers cohort, representing 16 leading school districts across the country that are helping shape how AI can best support educators and classrooms at scale.

Through this collaboration, all Lynwood Unified teachers and staff will receive free access to ChatGPT for the 2025-26 school year, allowing educators to generate lesson ideas, develop instructional materials, interpret and summarize data and deliver differentiated support to meet the diverse needs of students.

“At Lynwood Unified, we are deeply committed to equipping our educators with the tools and training that enable innovation and excellence,” Superintendent Patrick Gittisriboongul, Ed.D., said. “Integrating ChatGPT across our schools represents a significant step forward in supporting our teachers’ creativity, efficiency and collaboration – elevating teaching and learning for every student we serve.”

The initiative aligns with Gittisriboongul’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes “Leading with AI” by preparing every Lynwood student and educator to use technology responsibly, creatively and for good.

Through its AI Readiness Framework, the District is building literacy, fluency and proficiency in artificial intelligence, ensuring that technology enhances, rather than replaces, human brilliance. By expanding staff training, classroom pilots and responsible-use guidelines, Lynwood Unified is laying the foundation for students and educators to become confident, ethical leaders in an AI-driven world.
